Indonesian film festival to screen ‘Branded’

Iran’s ‘Branded’ is to be screened at the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival in Indonesia.

Iranian short flick ‘Branded’ has been set to go on screen at the 15th edition of the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF) in Indonesia.

The Iranian Youth Cinema Society reported that ‘Branded’, directed by Fatemeh Mohammadi, will take part in the JAFF’s Light of Asia section.

Written by Amir Roueeni, the film is about Hafiz, who decides to cross the Afghan border in order to save the life of a woman and her child.

The JAFF is “a premier Asian film festival in Indonesia focusing on the development of Asian cinema”, the event’s website reads.

“Not only contributes to introducing Asian cinema to a wider public in Indonesia, but it also provides a space for the intersection of many sectors such as arts, culture, and tourism”.

The 15th edition of the JAFF will take place on November 25-29, 2020.
